Indo-European languages
Map of the spread of Indo-European languages
Indo-European languages seem to have begun in the area between the
Black Sea and the Caspian Sea, in what is now Armenia and Georgia. It
is not clear yet whether the languages spread to neighboring countries
or the people who spoke those langages travelled to neighboring countries
and took their language with them. But certainly languages related to
Indo-European ones were spoken in many different places by about 1000
BC.
